The original press release is below:
On 04/23/17 at 1:00 am Officers were dispatched to 682 Queen Street (Exxon Gas Station) on an attempted armed robbery. At approx. 12:50am – 1:00 am a black male (Suspect) entered the Exxon. The Suspect ordered gas and cigarettes. When the Clerk placed the cigarettes on the counter, the Suspect demanded money from the cash register. The Clerk refused and the Suspect made a movement with his hand to emphasize that he had a gun (silver handgun). At this point another vehicle pulled into the gas pump area. Both the clerk and the Suspect noticed the vehicle pull in and the suspect exited the store. The Clerk followed the Suspect out of the store.

The Clerk observed that the Suspect got into a white Nissan Altima that was parked in front of the pumps. At the time there was a black female attempting to put gas into the Nissan. The female got into the passenger side of the Nissan and the Nissan fled the scene traveling South on Queen ST.

The Suspect is described as a black male approx. 5'6"-5'8" feet tall, weighing approx. 170-180 lbs., mid to late 20's, with a full beard approx. one inch in length, wearing a plain dark blue hooded sweatshirt which was covering his head.
The female with the suspect is described as a black female approx. 5'3"-5'5" feet tall, approximately 100-110 lbs. "petite", in her early 20s. She was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with light blue jeans, a dark blue or black hat and short dark colored hair.
A short time later the CT. State Police found the Nissan abandoned in the City of Hartford. Southington Police Detectives responded and took custody of the Nissan and are actively investigating.
